SaskCrops remains supportive of a fully transparent process and notes that it is important that any transformative processes do not draw scare PMRA resources away from core PMRA work making crop protection tools available to farmers.

SaskCanola continues to provide input to the federal government to ensure that farmers are treated fairly when it comes to grading and dockage, transparency on Export Sales Reporting, and producer security.

Saskatchewan is a unique region dominated by a rural landscape. SaskCanola supports the CRTC providing funding for operational support in rural and remote areas.

SaskCanola continues to ensure that canola growers have the tools they need to sustainably and responsibly grow their crops.

The Saskatchewan Crop Commissions welcomes the opportunity to provide feedback to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) on the Sustainable Agriculture Strategy (SAS) discussion document.

SaskCanola will continue to work with Minister Marit’s office and the federal government through CCGA to development new business risk management programming that will serve farmers effectively in the next agriculture policy framework.

As a result of the feedback they received, the CRSC is determining next steps for a Code that reflects farmers’ concerns. SaskCanola is participating in this re-evaluation and will keep farmers interests front and center in these ongoing discussions.

SaskCanola will work with the provincial and federal governments to make contracts more fair to producers; and will support efforts to inform producers of their rights and responsibilities with regards to grain contracts.
