Farmer leaders invited to join the Saskatchewan Pulse Growers and SaskOilseeds Boards of Directors

June 1, 2026

June 1, 2026 — Saskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG) and SaskOilseeds (SKO) are inviting nominations for their Boards of Directors, with terms beginning in January 2027. Both organizations encourage registered producers to put their names forward and help shape the future of Saskatchewan’s pulse and oilseed sectors.

This year, nominations are open for three positions on the SPG Board of Directors and four positions on the SKO Board of Directors. SPG directors serve three-year terms and may be re-elected twice, while SKO directors serve four-year terms and may be re-elected once.

Director Responsibilities

Directors on both Boards play an important role in providing strategic oversight and governance. Their work includes attending board meetings, serving on committees, taking on appointments to external industry-related boards, and representing the organization at industry events.

Serving on either Board is a meaningful opportunity to help shape the future of Saskatchewan agriculture and represent pulse and oilseed growers across the province, country, and globe.

Saskatchewan Pulse Growers’ mandate is to provide leadership for a profitable Saskatchewan pulse industry through research, market development, and communications. Accountable to and funded by growers, Saskatchewan Pulse Growers’ strategic direction is guided by a seven-member, producer-elected Board of Directors.

SaskOilseeds is a producer-governed organization that represents and is fully funded by approximately 20,000 oilseed growers in Saskatchewan. The Commission allocates levy dollars to strategic priorities including research, advocacy, and market development in support of a competitive and sustainable oilseed sector.
